50 participant feasibility study shows 95% behavioral nudge success rate

MotiSpark’s first feasibility study:
50 women recruited through Amazon Mechanical Turk in US. Responded to $3 payment offered to try motivational personalized video platform on any smartphone with camera. Participants took short quizzes to identify personal goals and action plans related to eating, exercise and relaxation. They learned the concept of the benefits of saying why and what out loud and were asked to film selfie videos. These selfie videos were then spliced into videos that were sent back to patients along with motivating images at times relevant to participants' action plan.

  • 47/50 participants said that their video nudges had been effective at triggering desired behaviors (healthier eating that day, starting exercise after watching video and/or feeling uplifted.)

  • All signed-up to receive more videos (unpaid)
