MotiSpark dramatically improves healthcare appointment revenues
First pilot summer 2018:
Challenge: A Chronic Care Management provider was not able to bill for 3 out of 4 enrolled patients because patients would not show up to remote care appointments. These patients suffered from 2 or more chronic diseases and most were on Medicaid. Our customer tried text-message and phone call reminders, but patients still did not show-up to appointments and complained that they were being bothered by excess calls and robo-texts.
Could adding MotiSpark improve patient attendance and reduce time lost by nurses calling patients?
Solution: Give patients an interactive video series accessible on any smartphone, tablet or computer that contained personalized motivational content along with occasional empathetic greetings from the remote care nurses. To onboard patients they were told the service was free, private and that they could stop at anytime. MotiSpark gave all of the nurses an easily accessible webpage where they uploaded selfie videos that were automatically inserted into all of their patient’s videos. Since the first cohort of patients was based out of a dialysis clinic, MotiSpark created a grey-labeled website and some population specific content modules and links. Average of 12 videos/viewed over 1 month. Pilot ran for 3 months.
Result: Motispark fixed appointment revenue loss and made patients and nurse satisfaction skyrocket.
Patients who received MotiSpark attended all of their billable sessions except 1 patient who had a death in the family. So, from less than 1 in 4 remote care calls to 4 out of 4.
All patients selected to continue the program.
Patients said that MotiSpark videos made them feel happier and more hopeful.
CCM nurses reported that patients were more immediately trusting, honest about their clinical data and pleasant to work with.
Contract set at $15 per/patient per/month
